Terms & conditions
These terms cover your use of this website. The services we provide to clients are governed by the written contract and terms issued with each quotation, which take precedence over anything here.
Use of this site
Content is provided for general information about our services. You may browse, print and share pages for your own business purposes. You may not scrape the site at scale, misrepresent its content, or use it in a way that damages its availability.
Information, not advice
Pages such as the compliance hub summarise legislation and standards in plain English. They are general guidance, not legal advice, and not a substitute for a fire risk assessment of your specific premises. Requirements depend on your building and its use.
The self-check tool
The "Are you compliant?" checklist is indicative only. Its output depends entirely on the answers you give and does not constitute an assessment of your premises.
Quotations and contracts
Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Work is carried out under the contract terms issued with the quotation, including payment terms, response commitments and limitation of liability. Nothing in any contract limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Insurance
We hold public liability, employers’ liability and professional indemnity insurance at levels appropriate to the work we undertake, including system design. Cover is maintained for the duration of any contract. The current schedule, with insurer, policy number, limits and renewal date, is issued to any client or prospective client on request, and to your insurer or freeholder if you ask us to send it directly. Ask the office on 07703 295654 or use the contact form.
Intellectual property
The Praetor name, wordmark and site content belong to SB Group. Third-party standards referenced (such as BS 5839 and BS 5266) are the property of their publishers.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
